All prices are listed in CAD (Canadian dollars).

What forms of payment do you take?

Public Mercantile accepts the following forms of payment in store:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express

Can I place an order online for pick up in store?

Yes! You won't receive confirmation of your order until we can physically be in the shop and pull the items off the shelf; we will then confirm it and charge your card. If any items are out of stock, we will let you know. (Sometimes with a physical store, items can be purchased simultaneously in person and online, so we want to be sure you can get your items before your card is charged.) You will receive an email confirmation when your items are ready for pickup, normally within 24 hours.

Please note that if you place an order outside of shop hours, we won't be able to process the order until the next open day. (For example, if you place it Sunday at 5pm, we would process your order on Tuesday at 11:00 when we are next open.)

What are your shop hours?

  • Tuesday - Saturday: 11:00 am - 5:00pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 - 4:00 pm
  • Monday: CLOSED

Can I place an order online to be shipped outside of Canada?

Currently we only ship within Canada. We have a flat shipping rate that is congruent with the (sadly) ever-rising prices of shipping.

I am trying to order some ceramics to be shipped, but it isn't letting me checkout.

Some items that are on our website are unavailable for shipping due to the fragility or bulk of the item — the shipping costs are too prohibitive. If there's something you really, really want and we don't normally ship it, please email us at hello [at] shoppublicmercantile.com for a custom shipping quote.

What is your return policy?

As we are a small, independent local boutique, we cannot process refunds, but we can offer exchanges or store credit for returns with 10 days with receipt. Please see more details here

Where do you get all your products?

We source from many places, and we look for items we love that aren't found in other Victoria shops. We strive to have a good mix of local and Canadian products along with indie international brands. We lean towards sustainable, women-founded, small-batch and organic. Everything on our shelves has a story and is carefully chosen — just ask if you have curiosity about any of our items and we can tell you all about it!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to come in, said nice things about the shop, and/or purchased something. We are so grateful for your support and could not be more proud to be a part of Victoria's vibrant business scene. ❤️
